Next week, festivities for the 108th Grey Cup will kick off in Hamilton, the host city for this year's event. While it would be fantastic to see the local team, the Tiger Cats, in the championship game on December 12 (they're facing the Argonauts in the Eastern Division Final this Sunday in Toronto), the organizers are still gearing up for a week-long celebration of Canadian football.

The week will be packed with various activities, from award ceremonies and game-day festivities to multiple parties (many of which are free), luncheons, and a special breakfast dubbed the 'Spirit of Edmonton.' It all begins with the arrival of the Grey Cup trophy at Bayfront Park on December 7 at 11 a.m.

Official Gaming Partner of CFL

As the Official Sport Gaming Partner of the CFL, BetRegal will take center stage during the week, according to Ali Lalani, BetRegal’s marketing head. When the market opens, an online sportsbook and an online casino for BetRegal Ontario will be available.CFL Lalani highlighted that part of their marketing strategy focuses heavily on education and brand growth.

He has previously mentioned that collaborating early with a respected brand like the CFL gives them a competitive edge in what promises to be a very crowded market.deereplanet.com this week.

Our partnerships, especially with the CFL, are part of a strategic initiative. Currently, we are focusing on establishing a clear brand identity rather than just pushing products.Ontario online sports betting market.

We're not concentrating on instant gratification betting at this point—something that will surely come with the regulation—but rather on integrating ourselves within the community. Given that many sportsbooks have similar odds, we aim to stand out by being vocal and proud of our Canadian heritage. The latter part of our strategy involves educating the average recreational bettor.

This careful approach is reflected in our activation program for the upcoming week, which includes several components:

Grey Cup Week Events

"Everyone enjoys prop betting, so we decided to introduce the Playoff Prop Challenge for each playoff game, including the Grey Cup, which will be featured in our activation area at each stadium,\" Lalani explained. The challenge includes 11 game-specific props accessed via QR codes, encompassing everything from the coin toss results to the total passing yards for a quarterback, and whether the team that scores first will ultimately win the game.

Playoff Prop Challenge

Participants who answer all the prop questions correctly will receive season tickets for their home market next year.

"We've already sparked considerable interest on the ground, even in the chilly weather conditions experienced last weekend in both Hamilton and Regina,\" Lalani remarked.

BetRegal has transformed the premium club area on the 4th floor of Tim Hortons Field for the Grey Cup weekend into a fully branded lounge. The standout feature of this space is a 'play for free' sportsbook experience, which includes a massive nine-screen video wall showcasing various sports, along with eight custom-branded recliners and four betting stations.

The BetRegal Lounge

"We will provide branded VIP player cards loaded with BR Points. Users can visit the terminals to place bets on any global event (all free to play), including live events they can view in our lounge, allowing for in-game betting,\" he said. \"Our goal is to give a glimpse into what the BetRegal lounge retail experience will be like in the near future, especially since all team owners will be present.\"

The company is also running a program where 75-100 affluent individuals can pay for the 'ultimate Grey Cup weekend,' which includes meet-and-greets with league commissioner Randy Ambrosie, along with special programming featuring BetRegal Legends like Matt Dunigan and Damon Allen. Dunigan and Allen will offer their insights on the props from the playoff prop challenge.

CFL Premium Experiences by BetRegal

The CFL has set up a special tailgating area equipped with large screens to watch the games, and BetRegal will have a significant presence there, motivating attendees to engage in the playoff prop challenge, distributing branded toques, holding autograph sessions with Dunigan and Allen, and, weather permitting, placing one of the betting terminals there to demonstrate the retail betting experience.

"On gameday, up to 1,200 attendees will have access to the BetRegal Lounge, both before and during the game,\" Lalani noted. \"The BetRegal retail sportsbook will be strategically located next to the commissioner's lounge, allowing us to connect with many influential figures regarding the potential of our retail platform.\"

This serves as another instance of private companies immersing themselves deeply in sports sponsorships, attracting new clients so they can hit the ground running when the province's launch date arrives.
