Total Wagers Hit $13.9B in Q4 of Fiscal Year

In the first quarter of 2022 (April to June), total wagers stood at $4.08 billion, yielding $162 million in gaming revenue. Based on these figures, iGO reports that Ontario's legal iGaming market has seen an average growth of over 50% in both total wagers and gaming revenue every quarter.

During the fourth quarter, the province had 44 active operators and 75 live gaming sites. There were approximately 1.01 million active player accounts, with an average monthly expenditure of $174 per account. Throughout the entire fiscal year, total wagers in Ontario reached $35.5 billion, with overall gaming revenue hitting $1.4 billion. There were 45 operators in place during the first year, along with 76 gaming websites. In total, there were 1.65 million active player accounts, with an average monthly spend per account at $70.

iGaming Ontario collaborates closely with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and the provincial government to oversee and manage online gaming services through private operators in the region.
