Chychrun from the Senators Takes on Role as Hard Rock Ottawa's Ambassador

Jakob Chychrun, a defenseman for the Ottawa Senators, has been named the new ambassador for the Hard Rock International establishment, which began construction earlier this year. The casino, featuring 1,500 slot machines, 40 different table games, a theater, and a hotel with 150 rooms, is expected to launch in the spring of 2025.

Six years back, the Ottawa Lottery and Gaming Corporation chose this Florida-based firm as their partner for the casino in the capital of Canada.

The upcoming Hard Rock facility is set to take the place of the Rideau Carleton Casino, which will continue to operate until the new establishment is fully ready.

"Joining the Hard Rock International alliance of prominent athlete endorsements is truly an honor,\" he remarked.

In his role as an ambassador, Chychrun will assist Hard Rock in promoting local initiatives, particularly those focused on mental health. He will also participate in exclusive VIP gatherings, including dinners and golf events.

His initial responsibilities began on Saturday, where he attended a special VIP occasion and contributed $10,000 (CAD) to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Born in Boca Raton, Florida, just about 30 miles from Hard Rock's headquarters in Hollywood, Chychrun has a notable lineage; his father, Jeff Chychrun, is also a former NHL player and hails from LaSalle, Quebec.

Now 25, Chychrun started his professional career with the Arizona Coyotes in 2016 and played there for over six seasons. This past March, he was traded to Ottawa in exchange for a first-round draft pick along with two second-round selections. Throughout his career, he has netted 60 goals and provided 170 assists across 373 games.
