During the Canadian Gaming Summit held in June, AGCO's CEO Tom Mungham shared with attendees that they were expecting a decision regarding the suggested modifications to the Advertising Standards in just a few weeks' time, rather than several months.

As August draws near, the anticipated announcement still hasn't been made.

Mungham acknowledged back in June that he was aware of the audience's eagerness to receive news from the registrar about this matter. He mentioned at the conference that the AGCO had received 38 responses to their invitation for feedback, which came from a range of stakeholders, including igaming and traditional gaming operators, the charitable gaming sector, community organizations, and health-related groups.

Ohtani Odds Of Monumental Interest

There's a lot of chatter online about the possibility of the L.A. Angels trading their star pitcher and hitter, Shohei Ohtani, ahead of the MLB trade deadline on August 1.
Baseball reporter Jeff Passan shared yesterday that the leading teams likely to acquire Ohtani are the Baltimore Orioles, Tampa Bay Rays, and Toronto Blue Jays, according to his sources.

The Blue Jays experienced a collapse in their bullpen during last night's game in Los Angeles, allowing the Dodgers to score four runs late in the game, resulting in a heartbreaking 8-7 loss. Currently, the team holds a record of 56-46, trailing Baltimore by 6.5 games in the American League East, and they sit in third place in the wildcard race as of Wednesday afternoon.

BetRivers Ontario This morning featured a special report on MLB odds regarding Ohtani's potential landing spot – the Angels are favored at -150, followed by 'Any Other Team' at +350, New York Yankees at +400, Rays at +450, Phillies at +650, Giants at +750, and finally the Orioles at +850.

This is quite unexpected given the Orioles' position in the standings and the depth of their minor league system.

Trading Ohtani to the Jays appears unlikely, especially since he has indicated a preference for playing for a West Coast team when he becomes a free agent this summer, plus the Blue Jays have a limited pool of prospects.
